In 1990, the 25-54 age group accounted for nearly ⅓ the population in Iceland and this percentage increased steadily until reaching a peak at 50% in 2020.Meanwhile, a reserve can be seen in the 0-14 and 15-24 age groups.These two groups reduced from over 25% to less than 20% and decreased by 14% respectively on the survey of the period.
During the survey,the proportion of 55-64 and 65 and over age groups didn’t increase and decrease so much.The size of the 65 and over age group remained stable at 13%.While the size of the 55-64 age group dropped to 10% in 2020.
