The maps illustrate how the waterfront area of Darwin town changed over a 5-year period from 2009 to 2014.
Generally, It is clear that the river bank witnesses major transformation. Most noticeably, the elimination of industrial areas, the increases in tree, and the introductions of a harbour, and university building.
In 2009, the industrial area was located to the south of residential buildings, and to the west of the sea. By 2014, it had become a place that planted a significant amount of trees, while its was sited to the north of accomadations, and near the lake was built into a swimming pool. Another striking change was a establishment of a harbour on the sea, and to the south east of the school. Moreover, there was a new footpath went into the harbour directly and divided tree forest into two sides.
In 2014, a university building acrossed the school from the walking road, and next to the resident area had constructed. Because of the enlarging facilities, the river side attracted a larger population as the residential buildings had established two times greater than its in 2009.
