Finally, the writer believes that if the government sales the horns that have been taken from the illegal hunters in the market instead of just stockpiling them, the price of rhinoceroses horns will decrease, and poachers will no longer be interested in hunting rhinoceroses. Not surprisingly, the professor refutes this claim by contending that many people do not buy these horns because they are illegal. Under these circumstances, many people would purchase horns, and demand for the horns would increase, which results in raising their price and encouraging poachers to hunt even more rhinoceroses.
To sum up, both the author and the lecturer hold conflicting views on the approaches to protect rhinoceroses from being overhunted.
