The given diagrams compare the key motivations of the adolescents for using phones in a selected Asian country in a 3-year period starting from 2016 to 2019.
Overall, the use of social networks occupied a vast majority, whereas the data of phone calls were the lowest number. In addition to that, the tendency of using phones shared the same picture in 4 examined years.
In detail, as for 2016, the principal reason for teenagers to use the mobile devices was for social media, which took up sharply a half of all reported purposes and doubled the second highest figure of emailing. The figure witnessed an inconsequential decline of 2 percent in the following year, reaching its bottom of the period of 48 percent. Besides, other reason for using phones, which are digital camera and phone calls, remained roughly the same in 2016 and 2017, with a mere marginal decrease of phone calls.
Concerning the percentage of 2018, the usage of phones for social networks increased by 3 percent and that of photography went up by 3 percent, while the proportion of emailing went down by 4 percent. This was followed by another decrease in 2019, reaching its lowest point of 19 percent. In the final examined period of 2018 to 2019, the purpose of contact experienced a dwindle of 6 percent, becoming the sole figure with one-digit number.
