In 2005, the French household recycling level stood at 50%, which was greater than that of the UK and Germany, at 35% and 20% respectively. In the following four years, the figure for France exhibited a considerable decline to about 40%. Meanwhile, the household recycling rates of the UK and Germany were observed with the same trend of going up at between 30% and 40% in 2009
In the last half of the period, both the figures for America and Germany witnessed a surge to about 60% in 2015. However, the data for France hit a record-low of 30%l 2013, before experiencing a slight recovery to 40% in the final year
