The line graph shows the oil production and consumption in China between 1982 and 2006.
The line chart provides information about the amounts of oil produced and consumed by Chinese over the period of twenty-two years from 1982 to 2006.
It can be seen clearly that the overall trend is upward. Despite nearly standing at the same point, the figure of oil production increased more steadily than that for oil consumption during the first half of the period before growing more minimally to finishing at the 2nd place.
In 1982, the production of oil was only 2 million of oil barrels per day, then it experienced a significant growth to 3 million four years later before flattening out until 1994. Similarly, the amount of oil consumption wittnessed a minimal increase from under 2 million to exactly 2 million in 1990 and increased more sharply to be equal to the production of oil in 1994.
From 1994 onwards, the oil consumed by Chinese continued to go up and reached a peak of over 6 million, which was the highes figure of the graph. There was also a slight upturn in the oil production to approximately 3.5 million of oil barrels in 2006.
