The chart compares coffee production in 4 different nations (Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia and Vietnam) between 1990 and 2010.
In general, it can be seen that for all figures the overall trend was upward except for Colombia. Additionally, the coffee production in Brazil was the highest, while Vietnam had the lowest production shown on the chart.
Turning to the chart for details, the amount of coffee produced in Brazil started at 0.7 million tonnes in the first year, compared to 0.6 million tonnes of coffee made in Colombia. Over the next 20 years, Brazil’s coffee production increased dramatically reaching a peak of 1.9 million tonnes. In contrast, there was a considerable fall in the production of coffee in Colombia, which hit the lowest point about 0.3 million tonnes.
In terms of the remaining countries, Indonesia produced nearly 0.2 million tonnes in 1990, which was double Vietnam’s coffee production (0.1 million tonnes). In the next 5 years, these figures for Indonesia and Vietnam remained relatively unchanged before growing significantly, at 0.4 and 0.3 million tonnes respectively.
