The graph below gives information from the 2008 report about the consumption of energy in the USA with projections from 1980 until 2030.
Given is the line graph illustrating data on the changes in the quantity of six different energy consumed and predicted in the USA over a five-decade period, from 1980 to 2030, measured in quadrillion units.
Overall, it is clear that the five types of energy had upward trends, and the amount of Petrol and Oil dominated throughout the given period.
In 1980, Petrol and Oil started with a figure of 35 quadrillion units, which fluctuated a lot in the next 15 years, grew constantly, and was predicted to reach over 45 quadrillion units in 2030. Coal and Natural Gas had the figure of 16 quadrillion units and 20h quadrillion units respectively in 1980 and stood at the middle ranks over the years. Coal is predicted to pass the Natural Gas consumption in the last given years, which could lead to harmful effects on the environment in the near future.
Nuclear, Solar/Wind, and Hydropower had the same starting point at about 4 quadrillion units. These three kinds of energy were not used much as their figures ranked last throughout the years, In 2030, it is predicted that Nuclear will be utilized more than the other two energy with a number of nearly 10 quadrillion units.
