What prompted you to apply for this scholarship? (250 word limit)
I am a final-year student who aspires to become a leading investment portfolio adviser with great intellectual resources and skills. However, I am financially constrained to pursue the CFA exam. I spent all the financial support of my parents and bank loans to become a student majoring in international finance at Foreign Trade University, which is one of the economic universities with an outstanding reputation in Vietnam. I have been a consistent performer throughout my education and have always been among the brightest minds. Furthermore, I come from a humble background where my parents are wonderful farmers who worked extremely hard to provide me with the opportunity to pursue my dream. My parents are fifty-five years old, and they are saving money for their retirement. Thus, I would not like to be their financial burden.
In addition, in the economic crisis, there are many challenges for candidates like me who do not have much experience. Be aware of the fact that I constantly participated in many extracurricular activities to improve my soft skills, such as being a part of the research club for students and the project leader of DAZone 2021, which is a data project for all students in Ho Chi Minh City. Besides that, I keep myself up to date with finance and investment-related subjects from other open sources. I also applied for finance intern positions when I was a second-year student. The CFA scholarship is my biggest opportunity this year to pursue my career in the future.
