The table compares the average retirement age by gender in six different countries in 2003.
Generally, in 2003, women retired at a younger age than men did, and the retirement age in France is the lowest among the 6 countries.
As is shown by the table, Korean retired at the highest age with the retirement age of 68 years 8 months for men and 67 years 2 months for women in 2023, whereas in France, people retired at around 57 years old. Besides France, Italy was another country where people retired at the age of under 60 in the year given.
Following Korea, people in Japan retired at around 67 years old, which is 10 years older than that in France in the same year. It can be easily seen that in other developed countries such as Australia and America, the retirement age ranged from 63 years 5 months to 65 years 6 months.
