In this set of material, the article discusses three main theories to support some practical ways for avoiding the damage on the birds, while the speaker casts doubt about the information presented in the passage and believes that these presented theories are not convincing.
First of all, the reading section makes the point that replacing the regular glasses with the one-way glass are the reasonable way for decreasing the damage to birds. In contrast, the instructor claims that using one-way glass is not effective. In fact, he believes that reflecting mirror is as bad as the glass, because bird does not distinguish between mirror and glass. He cites some examples to clarify his idea. For example, when the image of tree or sky reflects by the mirror, bird thinks that they are real one, so they fly towards them.
In addition, the professor disagrees with the idea that colorful design on the glasses of the glasses on the buildings could save birds from proposal damages, and implies that colorful designs could not be a reliable solution. Since, birds are not able to clarify these designs on the glass, they feel that there is a open hall and they try to fly through them. Specifically, he explains how these designs would not be practical.
Finally, although the passage states that using artificial magnetic field may help to avoid bird to strike the glasses of windows in tall buildings, the talker believes that using artificial magnetic field does not work. In fact, he elaborated by saying that birds utilize their magnetic sense during their migration of long distance, however they use their eyes for seeing bright color in the short distances. Moreover, it seems impractical to use magnetic field for this purpose.
