The author and the professor discuss about the European silver coin, the author states that the silver coin is not historical evidence and comes up with three reasons, which is challenged and refused by the lecturer one by one.
Primarily, an important point expressed by the author is that the place the coin was discovered is far from the site documenting the remains of Norse settlement, on the contrary, in accordance with the speaker, the reading ‘s claim doesn’t hold any water, because many other objects found in the Native American site came from other far places. The Native Americans loved to travel great distances and they were interested in obtaining objects from faraway places. Therefore, they could bring some silver coins back after the trip.
Secondly, the author states that people didn’t find other silver coins, which is conflicted with the lecturer who says that it is unnecessary to say the there was no other coins mean Norse didn’t bring coins with them. The Norse didn’t create permanent settlement in Native America. After they finished their voyage, they would pack up all the valuable things and bring back, so they would pack up all silver coins as well.
Finally, the author asserts that the Native American might not treat the silver coins as money like the Norse did, while the professor views that issue from an opposite angle. She claims that it is true that the Native American would not value the coins like the Norse did, but they valued the attractive unusual objects. The silver coins might have been very appealing because of its beauty. For example, they could have been used as necklace or other types of jewelry. As a result, the Norse could have used the coins to trade with the Native American.

Better to have 5 paragraphs with 3 arguments. And try always support/against one side but compare two sides, like this:
para 1: introduction
para 2: reason 1. address both of the views presented for reason 1
para 3: reason 2. address both of the views presented for reason 2
para 4: reason 3. address both of the views presented for reason 3
para 5: conclusion.
So how to find out those reasons. There is a formula:
reasons == advantages or
reasons == disadvantages
for example, we can always apply 'save time', 'save money', 'find a job', 'make friends', 'get more information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
or we can apply 'waste time', 'waste money', 'no job', 'make bad friends', 'get bad information' as reasons to all essay/speaking topics.
