The climograph below gives information ragarding the changes of average monthly temperature and precipitation throughout the year in the city of Kolkata.
It is clear that the monthly figures for rainfall vary considerablely, whereas temperatures remain relatively stable. Rainfall is highest from July to August, while temperatures are highest in April and May.
Looking at graph, there is a significant climb in the monthly rainfall, with the figure for roughly 20mm in January remarkablely increasing up to about 330 mm in July and August. It then drop dramatically from its highest point to a peak of under 10 mm at year end.
The data also indicates that monthly average temperatures experience a slightly increase in the early months, going from approximately 18°C in January to reach the highest point (roughly 30°C) by April and May. However, it then fall mildly towards the end of the year, with a marked decline to around initial level (about 18 °C) in December.
