In the lecture the speaker explains why no one of the solutions presented in the reading serve as explanation for why businesses should use different kinds of class to prevent injuries to birds. The three reasons why the speaker refutes the points made in the passage will be explained below.
First of all, the professor asserts that replacing the clear class with one way class will not help the birds. In fact, even the one way class has a problem because birds are outside and the one way class surface will make reflection as a mirror so birds will not understand the mirrors. This point directly refutes the point from the passage, which stated that this replacement will help birds because they can not see through a window so they will think that this window is a solid barrier.
Second, the speaker avers that painting the class will have a problem too. He says the designers while using the thin stripes painted over the class, they should make the openings space very small so the birds will not see the large openings space and fly through it. However , if the designers make that the buildings will be so dark. Again, this contradicts what is stated in the reading, which is painting the glass with color will help birds to avoid trying to fly through the glass.
Finally, the professor affirms that creating an artificial magnetic will not work. He explains that birds use the navigate to travel for along distance such as from the cold area to warm area before winter coming not for a short distance. Moreover, he says the birds use their eyes and the light during travel for a short distance. So this point disputes the point from the passage as well, because the passage argues that by saying magnetic signals help birds to fly away from the building.
