Some expets believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather that secondary school.
Do the advantages of this outweight the disadvantages?
Children spend lots of hours, nerves and money in order to learn new languages and usually do not understand why it so important because they do it under pressure their parents. Some of the students start study the second language at primary school others prefer to do it at secondary because there are different and debatable views what the ways more useful and proactive are. However, whatever way learners will choose they always have to be aware about its advantages and disadvantages.
In my point of view, most of the children begin to learn foreign language at primary school because it makes their brain works with abstract objects as well as develop their communicative skills. For instance, when people face a new language they have to think and get information in another way because it makes a circumstance that we use to live in more uncomfortable and creates new barriers in face-to-face conversations. Also, student due to such learning process obtain new skills even if their native language because it develop listening and speaking skills anyway.
To opposite, many children do not want to learn another language at primary school because it requires permanent practise and training during the whole life in order to loose and forget language itself. Thus, they prefer to wait for secondary school and begin to study it there. I think, there are some privileges in such way even though they have spent necessary time at primary school. It this case, the can choose a language more carefully based on their goals or a future job direction. So, it will motivate and inspire them as well and they could practice their knowledge outside activities too.
To conclusion, I think there are some useful things in the both cases of studying english for children. However, they always should think about their goals and preferences so as to be confident about their future. Also, the second language will improve skills in their native language anyway and they should use all of advantages of it by always remember that if they begin a learn new language they should use it so as to not forget after a while.
