There has been a controversial issue at present in regards to whether or not the government should focus on constantly developing its industry rather than others. Many people insist on the view that this should be the most priority in every nation. As far as I am concerned, I tend to agree with this contention and will justify my reasons below.
Those who oppose this statement on the grounds that there are many other more urgent projects need to be funded. For instance, the educational and medical systems will be neglected because the government invests the majority of revenue to develop its economy, and therefore the citizens’ physical health and psychological soundness will be at risk. From this point of view, they argue that the authorities should allocate more funds on public services.
On the other hand, there a number of significant reasons support this contention. Firstly, economic prosperity is a vital measure of national power. It is undeniable that advanced industrial technologies will expedite the local economy dramatically, and also raise the tax income of the government. As a result, the government will have sufficient funds to invest in other social infrastructures such as education, medical institutions and so forth.
Furthermore, it is undoubtedly true that national security is based on strengthened and stable economy. It has long been proven that citizens will devote themselves to create value to society only when their national sovereignty is secured, whereas we can see that people who are being confronted with chronic civil war would not be able to enjoy the social welfare because the government does not have the money to establish the infrastructures.
In conclusion, it is understandable that economy is not the only priority in the political agenda, but I believe that it is the basis for us to persuade higher living standard, thus it should always be prime in development of the country.
