In this set of material, both, the reading passages and lectures are discussing specific challenges to set a permanent station in Venus. Nevertheless, the listening and reading passages are completely contradictory. Whereas the reading passage put forwards the view is not possible to built a station in Venus. The lecture argued all the possible solutions and ample support to validate its claim.
The reading cast doubt on the information in the lecture due to the fact, it is impossible the human presence in this planet, the environment is inhospitable for living. Firstly, findings lend to support to the claim the atmospheric pressure at Venus is greater than Earth, under this conditions the humans are not able to survive. Second, the chemicals element at Venus’s atmosphere are lack of oxygen or water vapor, for that reasons will be necessary to supply oxygen to generate adequate live conditions; but this solution is difficult to achieve. Finally, due to dense clouds blocks the sunlight it is no possible to produce energy.
However, the lecture develops the claim and present argument to support the possibility to set a permanent station. Firstly, the atmosphere pressure can be solved if the station is building fifty kilometers up from the surface; in this altitude the atmosphere condition is similar like the Earth, the same pressure. Secondly, even though the light is blocking by the clouds, these challenge is not a big deal, since, a consider quantity of light go through it and also a little percentage is reflexed, in sum, these is enough to satisfy the requirement of solar energy.
