The table presents information about changes in the number of enrolled students at Bristol University in three different years. It can be clearly seen that the overall amount of undergraduates increased throughout 80 years.
It is apparent from the figures that the majority of new students were females, reaching the peak of 54 per cent in 2008. Meanwhile, the pattern for male students was substantially different. There was a rise to 68 per cent in 1958, followed by a sudden drop to 46 per cent in 2008.
Moreover, it is worthy to note that in 1928 the amount of students who came to study from within 30 miles of Bristol reached the half of all undergraduate students, and then steadily slid down to the trough of 1-2 per cent.
As regards foreign students, the average number rocketed to 28 per cent, coming from 98 countries, while in 1928 it was in the bottom of marginal 5 per cent. This ends my report.
