Human people are increasing day by day, so what will be the impact on birds population due to change of human population is the concerning matter for both the reading and the lecture. The authors avers that the number of bird population will continuously decrease in future and he establishes his point by providing three most import reasons for it. However, the professor states the idea that due to increasing of mankind, the birds population will not vanish.
First of all, the author claims that bird's natural habitats will not remain at all due to expanding use of land for human activities; as a result, the birds will not get place to live in future. This point is challenged by the professor, and he says that it is not a good prediction since only few types of birds will affected by this urbanization. Moreover, there are many birds whose live at city areas, and they successfully habitats in there.
Secondly, since to satisfy human need farmland will be extended in areas where wild bird live, birds will be faced severe problems for its habitats, is claimed by the writer in the reading. However, the lecturer rebuts this assumption by informing that the recent technological advancement will change the situation. He also mentions that now people start to cultivate more yielding crops which need much less areas and produce huge food, so people will not need to destroy birds' natural habitats.
Finally, the reading estimates that since people will use more pesticides to protect crops from insects and pests, those toxic pesticides will be the part of the food chain in which the bird survive. As a result, a large portion of birds will vanish from this word. The professor, on the other hand, states that author's prediction is not correct, and claims that no such thing will occur in future because people will not use traditional poisonous elements in that time. He also mentions that people will use less toxic chemical to control insects, and they might start to grow pest resistant crops. As a result, pest resistant trees will not be the responsibility of vanishing birds population.
