Regarding the category of food, drinks and tobacco, Turkey spent the most where the expenditure proportion reached 32.14%, followed by Irish people where they expended 28.9%. The expenditure of Spain, Italy, and Sweden was 18.80%, 16.36% and 15.77% respectively.
The lowest proportion of the national consumer expenditure was on leisure and education, where it was under 5% in all the five countries. A closer look at the data reveals that the lowest percentage of national consumer expenditure was in Spain, reaching a percentage of 1.98%.
It is clear that, Italian people spent more than the other on clothing and footwear at 9% in contrast to Sweden where their expenditure took up the lowest proportion at 5.40%. The average expenditure of Turkish, Irish and Swedish was about 6.5%.
