In some countries the average weight of people is increasing and their levels of health and fitness are decreasing.

A recently published study has illustrated that the average weight of people is rising and it has significantly lowered their health and fitness level. This essay considers sedentary life style and evolving eating habits the causative factors of this problem. It can be managed by raising awareness and by building more sports facilities.
Technological advances have negatively impacted our lifestyles. People are now for most part of the day on their office desks or in front of their computer screens, which deteriorates their physical well being by making overweight because of negligible physical activity. As an illustration, result of a scientific study showed that 40% of workers in corporate sector are overweight while 6% are obese.
The shift in eating practices have also affected health badly. People are opting for fast foods and fried items rather than fresh vegetables and dairy products, as a result of which their weight increases and their fitness level declines. For instance, A search study showed that most of the ingredients of fast food are artificially synthesised and can cause obesity also can result in chronic diseases like diabetes.
These growing problems of over weighing and lowering health status can be addressed by making people understand the causes of them and by educating people regarding their solutions and prevention. This is exemplified by a compaign launched in New Delhi India that educate office workers and urge them to exercise regularly.
Governments can also provide solution by encouraging people to exercise by building facilities like jogging tracks, sport complexes, and gymnasia etc. For example 114 sports grounds of different scale recently built by government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are used by 0.5 million people every month.
In conclusion, in general the average weight of the people are on the rise, affecting their health. This essay believes that sedentary living patterns and bad eating habits are mainly responsible for this. This can be coped affectively by elevating the level of knowledge about this issue and by providing people with more facilities to exercise.
