Solving problems effectively has always been a top priority. So the requirement for the appearance of software to connect with each other is extremely essential, especially when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. Zalo is one of many applications that both help connect people and solve work effectively.
Zalo is a multifunctional application operating on mobile phone and computer platforms, used in Vietnam, the United States, etc. Zalo was developed by the VNG Joint Stock Company. In December 2012, it was officially launched, following the mobile-first model and quickly attracting a large number of Vietnamese users thanks to the product's good performance, stability on network infrastructure in Vietnam. In February 2013, Zalo was voted at the top of the most innovative mobile applications in Asia on Techinasia.
It is undeniable that the benefits it brings assist people a lot in dealing with work. First of all, it has free texting and calling function, which helps people a lot in saving money instead of SMS. Especially, people can send files, photos, videos super fast up to 1GB without worrying about the quality of photos and videos. Secondly, it helps synchronize messages when people move from mobile phones to computers or from this mobile phone to that one. Finally, Zalo has added the feature of credit card payment via ZaloPay and QR code scanning recently. These utilities are integrated into the same application to help users save a lot of time and effort.
However, it has some certain downsides but users can avoid it in ingenious ways. Firstly, because of its specialty of adding friends through phone numbers, some people want to add friends but they do not want to let each other know their phone numbers. Secondly, unlike other software, Zalo does not have a screen sharing feature, which prevents people from discussing work easily. Finally, while it is possible to send large videos or photos, they will not be stored for a long time. A few months after people submit a photo or video, they come back and get a "system error" or "this photo/video no longer exists" message.
Since the outbreak of COVID 19, Zalo is the medium I use the most because all school announcements are announced here by teachers. Not only that, even homework is sent via Zalo. It is sent very quickly and the download does not take long. Notifications are all pinned so students do not miss any important announcements. When I do not understand something, I usually message the teacher directly or ask in the class group.
In conclusion, Zalo is an extremely useful application. It is an indispensable tool in current and future times. However, in order to use it effectively, users need to know how to use it properly and not to disclose personal information.
