Following appeared in a memo from the vice president of marketing at Dura-Sock, Inc. A recent study of our customers suggests that our company is wasting the money it spends on its patented Endure manufacturing process, which ensures that our socks are strong enough to last for two years. We have always advertised our use of the Endure process, but the new study shows that despite our socks' durability, our average customer actually purchases new Dura-Socks every three months. Furthermore, our customers surveyed in our largest market, northeastern United States cities, say that they most value Dura-Socks' stylish appearance and availability in many colors. These findings suggest that we can increase our profits by discontinuing use of the Endure manufacturing process

Author in argument concludes that that we can increase our profits by discontinuing use of the Endure manufacturing process and to support this he also gave an explanation. First, a recent study of our customers suggests that our company is wasting the money it spends on its patented Endure manufacturing process, which ensures that our socks are strong enough to last for two years our average customer actually purchases new Dura-Socks every three months and second, our customers surveyed in our largest market, northeastern United States cities, say that they most value Dura-Socks' stylish appearance and availability in many colors. The given argument is unconvincing and inadequate.

Firstly, author claims in argument that recent study of our customers suggests that our company is wasting the money it spends on its patented Endure manufacturing process, which ensures that our socks are strong enough to last for two years. Author did not explain enough evidence to support this claim. It may be possible that socks are actually not durable. In survey people suggest that company is wasting the money on its patented endure manufacturing process that does not mean socks that are produced by company are durable.

Secondly, author claims that we have always advertised our use of the Endure process, but the new study shows that despite our socks' durability, our average customer actually purchases new Dura-Socks every three months. But author fails to explain where this study was done. It may be possible that this study can be done in one city or market of the few cities. Author claims in argument that average customer actually purchase new Dura-Socks every three months. But author fails to give enough evidence to support this view. Author did not tell about how many customers can actually purchase Dura-socks three after every month. Author must have tell us about which group of people can purchase Dura-Socks after three months. It can also raise question on durability of Dura-Socks. It may be possible that average customer can keep old for other use and purchase new for some particular reason.

Thirdly, author says that customers surveyed in our largest market, northeastern United States cities, say that they most value Dura-Socks' stylish appearance and availability in many colors. Author fails explain actually in how many colors Dura- Socks are there. It may be possible Dura-socks are in few colors only. To strengthen argument author must have specify number of colors as well as type fashion used in the their Socks.

Therefore, by focusing light on some inadequate evidences in the argument and explanation of possibility leads to strengthen this argument.
