Laws should be flexible enough to take account of various circumstances, times, and places.

Law is a system of rules to govern behavior of human beings. It is one of the most essential issues in the country. The speaker claims that laws should be flexible enough to take account of various circumstances, times and places. In my perspective, in most of the extent, if the law is too flexible, it would lead to the negative impact to the country. It would also restrict the development of the country and influence human’s life.

First, the country would be changed over time. People could not anticipate the future precisely. So it is impossible for human to establish a law which is flexible enough to take account of several centuries. NOx, which indicates the Nitrogen Oxide and Nitrogen Dioxide, will create ozone and damage the environment. Since the pollution problem in the world becomes more serious, the International Maritime Organization further restrict the standard of emitting of NOx by shipping. So, the impact of maritime pollution could be reduced. As the serious impacts of NOx had not forecast by the scientists over the past few decades, the restrictions must be reenact in order to protect the environment. From that, it is found that law could not be flexible enough all over the time as the environments in the world are varied.

At the same time, because of the culture, ethic, institution and religions are different between countries; law is hard to take account of various places. Some national laws related to the criminal issues would not come to the same result. For instance, homosexuality is illegal in Iran, where is an Islam State. As the dogma of Islam are not allowed the homosexuality. However, homosexuality is legal in some of the U.S. states. From that case, if the law is too flexible among various places, it would probably trigger the disputations. So, different law in various could tackle their actual needed because they have their own culture, ethic, institution and religion which would affect the legislation. In short, it would be suitable for laws to be flexible enough a country but not the world.

Finally, laws are flexible to take account of various circumstances if there are consultations before the legislation. So, the legislature could consider different circumstances in order to perfect the law. However, it is impossible to consider the circumstances entirely. For that case, the decision will belong to the judge.

In sum, law should be flexible enough to tackle in a period of time. However, it is necessary for the improvement of laws among time as no people could anticipate the future. At the same time, it is appropriate for laws to be flexible enough to take account among a country but not the world.
