The luxuries and conveniences of contemporary life prevent people from developing into truly strong and independent individual.
According to the statement, the luxuries of the modern day life hinder in the development and growth of an individual. That means, if today's man is using car, air conditioner and cell phone: all these prevent him from being independent and strong. I do not concur with the statement. As a coin, these luxuries have their own pros and cons. And, when weighed, hopefully there will be more positive aspects.
In today's time, kids are gtiven cell phones, and the main purpose is to make them independent. So that they can call any time in any kind of problem. so, cell phones, one of the luxuries of today's life make them more independent and strong. A working lady with the aid of microwave, washing machine and dish washer can be more independent in her house as well as her office work. One can travel in any part of the world in a short span of time by the aeroplanes, which from my point of time makes a person more independent.
Barack Obama, the U.S President in spite of having lack of luxuries and facilities is one of the most independent man on the earth. From my point of view, luxuries have nothing to do with the success of an individual. It is the strong will power, determination and hard work which make him independent and strong. There have been numerous examples in the history to support my point. People like Einstein, Steve Jobs are the one with minimal of the facilities, but, still known for their renowned work in their respective fields. Dheeru Bhai Ambani , one of the entrepreneurs in India has his benchmark because of his hardships and diligent work. It is not because he was from an affluent family with all the luxuries and conveniences.
In today's era, people become dependent on the technology and sources that without them they are nothing. A cell phone has become such an indispensable part of our life that we can not imagine life without phone. Internet, car, escalators are such multiple examples. These technology has made the man slave of his own inventions.
To sum it up, I would say that if one avails the facilities judiciously, then the strong and independent nature of the man will remain preserved.
