Education has been one of the most critical part of development for a nation. Students who need to be trained will become a leader one day naturally. In other words, the destiny of a nation is purely dependent on the way of thinking shaped by the education of its future leaders. A quick reflection of a typical human resources of the government represents the necessity of the issue. Politicians who are responsible for legislating have been at the desks of the schools and have been at the center of the education system at one day. The prompt reccomends that all of the students of a nations should follow the same track during their educations. In my opinion, I mostly agree with the argument above.
There is a statement that criticises this argument by claiming that common curriculum has lack of consideration of the differences among the students. In other words, students who have uncommon skills that don’t fit the standardized curriculum would feel as vanquished, which will lead the them not to use their potentials efficiently. Most probably these students won't be beneficial for the country although they have unexplored creativities. Hence this argument states that equal curriculum for all types of students destroys the differencies among them by trying to make them same.
However, the same curriculum doesn’t directly result in not considering the differences among learners. Since education is still carried by the teachers and the consultants, there are always opportunities for exploring extraordinary creativity without completely changing the curriculum. In fact, these types of skills are so rare in the population. Therefore, one should only design an education system that helps the teacher to realize the uncommon approaches among the students instead of a curriculum that considers every aspects of learning differences. For example, Finland has developed an education system that has nearly well developed responds to the extraordinary. Size of the classes is so low that the teachers can be able to detect the special students. Although all of the schools have the same curriculum, which helps the students to have equal right with their rivals, lecturers can observe the behaviours of the students easily. Hence, educational institutions which have the same curriculum, and improved ability of teachers about observing students help the generations to have the same rights, in addition, expressing themselves even though they have different approaches than other students.
In contrast to the stament, we can even see how a common curriculum helps the students to feel strong. Since all of the students with common way of learning have same education programs, they don’t believe that there are inequalities which causes dramatic differences among them. If there had been such a belief, they wouldn’t choose to use their abilities to improve the future of a nation since they would feel they are lack of enough skills. Consider US education system as a counter-example. Student at state highschool believes that he doesn’t have even a chance to compete with another student at the private schools although they have similar abilities. In this situation, student at the state school wouldn’t be beneficial for the nation because of this preassumption. Problem of different curriculums at the private schools and the state schools, therefore, leads a lot of students with enough intelligent capabilites to be lost.
Education that serves equal opportunities for its users has always been an important issue for the development of the country. Only if the nation gives value to all of its potential leaders, there would be a chance to compete globally. Therefore, common education program vital for being a contemporary country although there are some opposing arguments.
