Social, economical and technological growth has made it possible for humans to reach the farthest corner of the world and even beyond. Now reaching moon is not a dream. But a reality like going to any other place on earth. With so much going around, it is not impractical to say that there might be only few places untouched by humans. And leaving those few areas in their natural state is a valid option.
With concrete jungle growing day by day, the existence of such areas, which are home to many kinds of species, are threatened. Our children will less of the natural beauty and more of the artficial life that we have built around them. Hundreds, or may be thousands of plant and animal species may also be affected if these places are not protected.
Preserving the remaining wilderness area in their natural state will be only be possible if every nation works towards it. Passing a law will ensure a firm support for the cause. With growing population especially in developing nations, demand for land is also increasing for example: housing needs, land for cultivation, setting up factories etc. And with limited option in hand, most often than not man start encroaching these areas. Human wants are endless and cannot be stopped until a strong policy is introduced.
Some may argue that passing a law in preserving these areas might not be good option. There may be many lands which are barren could be used for industrialization, some may even be used for housing especially for nations with high population etc and restricting these places will only hinder the growth of the nations. To some extent this argument may be true, but laws are not a rigid system rather a a means to healthy functioning of nation by putting a check on things of utmost importance. Laws can be amended if necessary and depending on the situation. But without a law in place at all, situation will be even more chaotic.
To sum it up, in the given scenario, laws to preserve wilderness area in absolutely important not only for present generation but also future generation. With times as people grow more and more aware, these laws can be changed, amended or may focus on entirely different issue in hand.
