Seldom every country has a large number of population dispersed throuhout the country. One cannot gain a complete knowledge about what is happening in north by siiting in the southern part of the country. Various people indulge in number of crimes secretively including the authorities which are not suppose to violate the laws. Depravity and greediness has increased to a large extent.

Violation of rules and laws have become a common intance for us. Every day, by some means, we hear about the robbery or a case of murder. Every alternate day, there occurs a rape case. And on top of this, we may even witness a terrorist attack in some part of the world. A small amount of corruption is ought to happen or origin at some place. But, the people along with the governement are unaware of this wretched condition. And the scandals involving all of the above mentioned cases when disclosed to people and government can give rise to an agitation to concentrate on the specific problem and resolve it.

Generally, the problems of the people and the society are enlightened in the speeches or criticism expressed by some media. A reformer working for the betterment of the society always tries to educate people about the contemporary situation. But, not all the people attend these movements and those who attends are not much interested to go back home and work on it. Hence, a scandal is capable of drawing attention of a large number. When people talk about some specific scandal among them, it has to get a good exposure to spread among the people rapidly.

For example, a recant scandal of Coal India, where the allocation of coal blocks to the public sectors and some private companies was found to be inefficient. People were attracted towards the scandal which involved a considerable part of the economy. This was certainly going to affect the people. Loss incurred was enormous. And the governement had to look after this issue seriously since people and country was eager to know the reasons behind it. A lack of discipline and a huge amount of corruption was involved. Finally, this has led the governement to take quick and earnest action. Now, this kind of attention is never witnessed by any speaker or reformer.
Hence, scandals are useful to entice the people and the governement to the problems of the society.
