The charts illustrate numbers of visits to and from the UK and the most popular countries visited by UK residents in 1999.
The first chart is visits to and from the UK chart. This chart gives information that visits abroad by UK residents were increasing in every year from 12 million visits in 1979 became 52 million visits in 1999. From this chart, we can find the visits to the UK by overseas residents as well. It indicates that the visits rates to the UK by overseas residents were growing from 10 million in 1979 to 25 million in 1999.
The second chart shows the most popular countries visited by UK residents in 1999. There were five countries which became the destinations of the UK residents reflected by the chart. Based on the chart, we can see that France was the most favorite country visited by the UK residents in 1999. Among the five countries, Turkey was the least favorite country visited by the UK residents.
To sum up, we can conclude that the tourism in the United Kingdom was increasing since 1979 until 1999. The increase reflected by the rising of both visits to and from the UK. Moreover, France and Spain were the top two popular countries visited by UK residents in 1999, first and second respectively.
