The map illustrates the development of village near London, Chorleywood, from 1868 to 1994. The number of population of Chorleywood has rised steadily since the middle of nineteenth century.
Generally, the growth number of region in Chorleywood was occurred to provide house living for the increasing population in that village. The development of infrastructure was also shown to support their life.
In the range of 1868-1883, there was only one region in park and Golf course area. By the increasing of population, in 1883-192, there was new region located beside the first region. In addition, the number of region increased to be four regions from the period 1922 to 1994. To support the society life, infrastructures were built in surrounding village. Motorway facility was built in 1970 while railway was constructed in 1909.
Interestingly, the position of main road did not change through the years. It means that the developing of region did not influence the road position.
To sum up, the village of Chorleywood developed in the period 1868 to 1994 was evidenced by the number of regions and the development of public facilities.
