The graph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport. Summarize are the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph presents goods shipping in the UK from 1974 to 2002. In general, it can be obviously seen that goods transported by road, water, rail, and pipeline was fluctuated between 1974 and 2002, but the trend was generally upwards.

Goods transportation trend by road was almost as same as by pipeline. They rose slightly since 1974 until 1978 and had the peak session in 2002.

Goods transported by water and rail had the same number. But, if goods shipped by water increased steadily in 1978, goods shipped by rail fell steadily. If transportation passed by water leveled off until 1998, transportation of goods by rail fluctuated. From then onwards, shipping goods with water transportation increased steadily, rail transportation rose slightly.

Uniquely, from 1979 to 2002, there was no change for the ranking of popular mode of transport. The most popular was shipping by road and the least popular was pipeline.

In conclusion, the line graph illustrates the quantities of goods transported in UK since 1974 till 2002.
