In order to solve traffic problems essay, governments should tax private car owners heavily and use the money to improve public transportation.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a solution.
Traffic problem is serious problem found in many countries in the world. The use of car drivers increase every year so it caused congestion on the traffic. Some countries impose severe taxes for car drivers and improving the quality of public transportation to solve the traffic problem. Certainly, this decision have advantages and disadvantages.
I believe that high taxes for car drivers may make the car drivers discourage to use car because they must spend much money. They have to pay high cost not only on taxes but also they have to pay expensive on car maintenance so this difficult case may forces them to change to public transport. If government improve the quality of public transport and the price can be achieved by all citizens. It will encourage society to change public transport so the congestion on the traffic can be solved.
Although, there are disadvantages too. Firstly, they have to wait the public transport and sometimes it is a long time. On the way, they spend much time because sometimes the public transport can not bring them directly at office or in their purpose to go so they have to change two or three times public transport to get the place they need. It will make them tired, troublesome, and bored on the way. As a result, they may come late to work or other activities so they use the time not effective on their daily activities.
In my opinion, increase the taxes for car drivers and then the funds used to improve quality of public transport have many advantages for all society economy level. Other side, people spend much time on the way so they may come late to work, but it will make them prepare early they want to go work or other place and also they will be lazy to go out if no something is very important so it will save their money.
