In the past, most people lived in small villages where everyone knew everyone else. Nowadays, most people live in large cities where they only know a few people in their area. What do you think were the advantages and disadvantages of living in small community?

Today, in some big cities, most people live as individual person. In the fact, this is different from the past, when people lived in small communities such as village that had many advantages and disadvantages.

I argue there were three advantages of living in small community. Firstly, everybody could know their neighbor better so that, they had good relationship to with each other. Secondly, every people had big sympathy for another person hence, he or she would had good heart. Thirdly, every member of small society, usually, help each other easily so, his/her problems were been lighter.

However, I think there were main disadvantages from small society. Firstly, every people had lean to intervene another person’s business. This is, sometimes interrupted another person. Secondly, there were lack of privacy in small inhabitants. For example, some neighbors spoke loudly then, made noisy to anyone else. Thirdly, it was hard to improve their interaction because there were just few people in their community. When they came out from their places, they got shock with different culture out there. Fourthly, the members had little of willing to learn various cultures, because they had felt comfort with their same daily culture that they learned before so, they often hard to received different culture.

In my view, the advantages of small community are less than the disadvantages. People did not have privacy enough for their life. Sometimes they felt someone gave many intimidations for them, just because of they had different culture or different way in their life.

In conclusion, each community had many advantages and disadvantages, but the most important was how we could be the good person who always appreciated each culture wherever we were. Hence, everyone felt suitable with his places. Then, they had better quality of life.
