In the past, shopping was a routine domestic task. Many people nowadays regard it as a hobby.
To what extent do you think this is a positive trend?
These days, it seems that shopping is becoming more and more of a hobby than a routine task. Teenagers meet in mall, go window shopping, tend to try on various clothes, nevertheless they usually never purchase anything. The question is, does this trend have any advantageous aspects or is only a major waste of our time?
From one point of view it could be true that shopping has positive effects on our mood. It is believed that acquiring new items is a huge stress relief. For teenagers window shopping can result in na new understanding of fashion trends, maybe a way to be more outstanding in the crowd with one’s different taste. Thus, going to a shopping center can result in a positive way and be a relaxing hobby after a nerve-wrecking day.
On the other hand, window shopping is the result of the economic situation nowadays. Prices and taxes are drastically increasing, however the living wage is not. As well as this people can be lead to depression for not being able to purchase anything other than the regular vital necessities. As a result, the average satisfaction rate of the country is radically decreasing.
From my own point of view, shopping for me and a few of my friends is an advantageous hobby. As I fancy art and fashion design, observing clothes gives me a broad range of choices for my own designs and drawings. What is more, buying a new piece of clothing is a great way to boost my mood. What could be better for a girl than a new dress?
All in all, although for me shopping has become a positive hobby, however there are some people who can easily get depressed from the increasing prices. It seems that there are various pros and cons on this topic, thus there is no one true answer.
