The table shows the worldwide market share of the mobile phone market for manufactures in the years 2005 and 2006.
The table elucidates the mobile manufacture’s market share in the world market in a percentage for the period 2005 to 2006.
As it is observed from the table, Nokia had the largest market share (of almost 1/3 of total market share) in 2005 and it increased by 2.5% in 2006 to remain the largest mobile manufacturer in the world. The market share for Motorola is followed closely as it comprised over 17% in 2005 and their market share increased by 3.3%. Samsung had been able to maintain third position for their mobile phone market share, their share decreased to 11.8% in 2006 compared to 12.7% in the previous year. On the other hand, Sony Ericsson and Lg had more than 6% of its market share in 2005. In 2006, while the market shares for Sony increased by 1%, Lg’s market share declined. Lastly, market share for Ben Q was the least market share for both years and in 2006, the market share had gone down less than half. All other mobile manufacturers constituted of 19.2% of the market share in 2005 and that reduced to 16.2% in next year.
It is apparent that, Nokia recorded as the highest market share for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006. The market share for Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson had an incremental trend from 2005 to 2006 while others, Samsung, Lg and Ben Q had reduced in their market shares.
