The line graph and the table illustrate the usage of water in the world from 1990 to 2000 and water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000.
In the line graph, at the first glance, although the amount of water used varied according to purpose and year, agriculture field was the biggest consumer in all the recorded years. To specify, starting at around 0 km3 in the first year, the figures of industrial use and domestic use witnessed dramatic upward trends in the following years with the former reached a peak of 1000 km3 and the latter increased to the highest point of 300 km3. Similarly, the amount of water consumed in agriculture sector soared from 500 km3 in the first year to the highest point of around 3000 km3 in the final year.
In the table, in general, Brazil overwhelm D.R.C in the water consumption. Having 176 million people with 26,500 km2 irrigated land, each people in Brazil used 359m3 water whilst this statistic in D.R.C was 8m3 water with 5.3 million residents and 100km2 irrigated land. Strikingly, population and irrigated land had a huge effect on water consumption in these nations.
