Dear Mr. John Collins,

I am a clerk, James Smith, who is working under your guidance. I am writing this letter to you regarding my requirement for the holidays. Allow me to describe the situation for the necessity of time off.

From the last 2 months, I was doing the backbreaking work because the responsibility of the duties of one of my colleague, Mr. Mike Michelson, was on my shoulders. Since, he was suffering from serious health related problems. Due to this, even, the laboured had been done by me on some Sundays. Fortunately, my staff member has recovered from his illness and now, he is doing his work normally. As, I have the tremendous tiredness so that’s why some rest is needed to me.

Further, it would be greatly appreciated by me if you could grant me one week leave. Because I have planned a 7 days hill tour with my family for relaxation.
