The chart below shows the number of men and women in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying fulltime or part-time.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

The bar chart indicates the proportion of males and females in Britain who were having full-time and part-time education, in the year 1970/71, 1980/81, 1990/91.

Overall, it can be seen that the proportion of both sexes who were having full-time education is far higher than the proportion of those who were having part-time education, in all three periods.

In 1970/71, full-time education reached about 1.000 for men and about 700 for women.

In 1980/81, it can be noticed a small decrease with male, full-time students, while at the same period, there is a small increase with the women, full-time students.

In 1990/91, men, full-time students rose a little less (850) than what women, full-time students did. (1050)

On the other hand, part-time education in Britain in the year 1970/71, was under 200 for both male and females. But that changed during the next two periods (1980/81 and 1990/91), with a rose of almost 200 for both men and women those periods.
