Australian Bureau of Meteorology
Have you ever wondered how the Australian Bureau of Meteorology is able to produce reliable forecasts based on up to the minute information? Well, let me tell you that there are 4 major steps involved in making sure that the weather updates are delivered quickly and accurately.
First of all, there is the matter of incoming information culled from sources such as satellites, radars and drifting buoys. Secondly, analysis and forecasting is done through the use of the following instruments: a satellite photo, a radar screen and a synoptic chart. Third on the list is preparing for the broadcast using the analysis and forecasting tools earlier mentioned and feeding the information gathered to the computer. The final step is the broadcast in itself where the data gathered is shared either through a television newsreader, the radio or through a recorded announcement.
All in all, these steps make up for the effective collection, processing and transmission of weather forecasts that are reliable and up to date. Thus, benefitting the people who surely need guidance from precise news that affects how they go about their normal and regular lives.
