The bar chart below gives information about the percentage of the population living in urban areas in the world and in different continents.

The provided bar chart illustrates not only the proportion of people who lived in urban areas in the 1950-2007 period but also the predictable data of it in 2030 in various parts of the world.
From the first glance, the whole world and a diverse mixture of continents, which seemed to increase considerably throughout a 57-year in the past, tend to go up gradually in the next 23 years in the figure for citizens living in cities.
It is noticeable that the rate of the average population from all over the world will go up approximately two-fold from 1950 to 2030, at 60%. Besides, North America contributed to the highest percent of people moving from rural to cities, which accounted for 64% in 1950 and 79% in 2007. Nevertheless, the least African living in urban areas throughout the 1950-2007 period with 15% and 37% respectively. In addition, the largest disparity in the past belonged to Asia, at 24%, in spite of this considerable increase, the percentage will be still lower than the world average in the next 23 years.
Looking at the column chart in more detail, we can see that in 2030, in comparison with the world average the trend will stay constant. To be more precise, 9% of Africans and 6% of Asians will be under the mean data in the whole world. Conversely, three continents namely Europe, Latin America, and North America will have higher rates than from the world, which will be responsible for 78%, 84%, and 87% in order.
