Overall, men travelled more distance than women during a year. Work was the main reasons of travelling for men, while women had more interest in shopping.
To begin with, the total distance travelled by men for their work was 35,000 miles, which was more compare to 30,000 miles covered by women. By contrast, day trip was the least popular reason for travel among men and women. Furthermore, for entertainment purpose, 15,000 miles distance covered by males, which was 1.5 times of day trip distance, while almost 11,000 miles travelled by females, which was almost twice compared to day trip.
On the other hand, almost same number of miles travelled by both gender for the reason of taking children to school, which was around 27,000 miles by men and 26,000 miles by women. Meanwhile, women travelled 30,000 miles for the purpose of shopping, which was 5000 miles more than distance travelled for meeting of friends. This difference was almost same in males who travelled for same reasons, which was almost 27,500 miles for shopping and around 22,500 for meeting of friends.
