The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
The given bar chart compares the proportion of Australian men and women in six age groups who was (were) active physically in (on) a regular basis in 2010.
Overall, women did more regular physical activity than men in five of six age groups over the given period. The most physically active age group in men was 15 to 24, compared to 45 to 54 in women. Furthermore, the most significant difference between two genders was on 45 to 54 age group.
In terms of the youngest age category 15 to 24, the proportion of physically active men was slightly higher than their counterpart (52.8% and 47.7% respectively).
On the other hand, the figure for regular physical activity on the remaining groups was higher in women. 48.9% of women aged 25 to 34 were active physically as opposed to men at 42.2% in the same age group. Similarly, over half of the Australian women did some physical activity in a regular basis, which was far more higher than men whose figure ranging from 39.5% to 45.1%. Finally, almost equivalent data at 47% was recorded in both genders in 65 and over age group.
