The bar chart below shows the percentage of government spending on roads and transport in 4 countries in the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005.
The given bar chart provides some information about the amount of budget that is allocated to roads in four different countries over a 15 years period, from 1990 to 2005. An overall view indicates that in European countries more money is spend on roads, while in the UK and the USA, the devoted money is approximately half of them.
As can be seen, the percentage of money showed fluctuation, however, allocated budget has declined over mentioned years. In 1990, about 22 per cent of national budget has been devoted to road, but this money has reduced to less than 20 per cent in 2005.
On the other hand, in Portugal, the amount of spend money experienced a downward trend and from 27 per cent in 1990 has reached 20 per cent in 2005.Although, in the UK, the proportion of money showed one increase in 2000, but it has dropped to approximately 7 per cent in 2005, which means 3 per cent reduction.
It is noteworthy that the USA is the only country that increased the amount of money spending on road. As it is viable, it fell up by 5 per cent in comparison to 1990.
