The bar chart below shows the percentage of students who passed their high school competency exams, by subject and gender, during the period 2010-2011.
The bar chart depicts that the figure who clear the high school competitive exam by gender and subject in the period of 2010 to 2011.
It is clear that, almost all subjects had high figure for girls except geography, in which the number was higher for male. The highest number of girls complete the competitive exam in subject of computer science.
As the graph shows, the trend represented the figure for girls higher compared to boys in all subject. Only 42.1% boys passed computer science while 56.3% cleared this subject that was the highest figure over the period as well as overall the subject. In terms of chemistry, the number for girls at 30.2%were nearly double than boys at 14.1%.
According to physics, history, foreign language and maths, there was slight higher number for girls at 36.7%, 25.6%, 47.4% and 49.2% in compare to for boys at 34.6%, 22.9%, 46.8 and 48.4% respectively in 2010-11. Meantime, reference to subject of geography, the number of male students who cleared the exam stood at 30.4% which only 20.1% was accounted for girls. This subject was only considered in which the trend showed reverse compare to other subjects.
