The bar chart below shows the production of the world s oil in OPEC and non OPEC countries Write a short report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below

The bar chart illustrates the changes in global oil production over four decades, starting in 1980. The information is divided in to three different regions of the world and presented in terms of number of barrels produced per day in millions.
Overall, the total fuel production was significantly increased after 2000, however, it is estimated that it will remain more or less the same over next decade. Middle East OPEC countries saw a marked rise of production, whereas the amount made by non-OPEC and other OPEC countries fell sharply over the span.

During the first two decades, the total number of manufactured barrels was about 10 million, and the number was nearly doubled to just below 20 million over next ten years. Despite of this sharp rise, the overall production will not change significantly over the coming decade. Being the prime producer, Middle East OPEC countries started the period at around 2 million in the first 20 years, and the production was nearly quadrupled to just below 8 million in the current decade. Likewise, they will keep developing the industry to double the production to about 16 million barrels a day so that this region will be the main fuel supplier for next 10 years by supplying more than 95% of the world’s oil demand.

In contrast, there was a significant reduction of oil production in non-OPEC countries over the initial 30 years, from around 9 million in the first two decades to about 5 million in the present decade. Similarly, this region will keep reducing their production rate to reach a number below 1 million during the next decade. Other OPEC countries started manufacturing fuel in this decade at a rate of around 5 million barrels per day, which is approximately similar to non-OPEC region’s rate, and will also decline the manufacturing rate to just below 1 million barrels a day in the next decade.
