As an overall trend, the percentages of both components exhibited an upward trend throughout the period,though, the figure for IT industry experienced a gentle drop in 1996. What’s more, IT contributed more to GDP than Service did over 8 years.
In details, the figures for IT and Service accounted for nearly 6% and 4%,respectively in 1992. Each of them showed a slight growth of 2% after 2 years. Afterwards, the proportion of service in industry experienced a steady and significant rise, then it reached just over 8% at the end of the period.
In terms of IT industry, the figure dropped to around 8% in 1996. After two years, it showed a sharp surge to 12% which was twice as much as the same figure in 1992. However, it continued with a gradual increase and hit a peak of roughly 15% in 2000.
