The bar chart compares how many dependents there were in 2000 and will be in 2050 in five various countries around the world. Overall, it is obvious that the average percentage of world independents is predicted to rise to about 42% in 2050 from around 25% in 2000.
Starting with Indonesia, China, Korea and Japan, there will be an increase in the number of dependents from 2000 to 2050. A significant rise can be seen in the percentage of Korean independents, rising from the lowest point (about 20%) in 2000 to 40% in 2050. Also, the proportion of Japanese dependents will have reached the peak at about 50% in 2050. Meanwhile, the number of dependents in both China and Indonesia will increase by the same percentage (5%), from nearly 30% to approximately 35%.
Turning now to India, however, five decades will witness a modest decrease in the number of Indian dependents, from 35% to 27%.
