Overall, China is the most densely populated country in 1950 and 2002 with India, the USA, and Japan following, respectively. However, as it is shown in the graph, the percentage of China will have dropped significantly, and India will be on the rise consisting the most crowded in the terms of citizens' country.
Looking at the graph in more detail, China and Japan follow a similar downward trend. In particular, China’s population starts in 1950 at around 23 percent, and by the end of 2050 is estimated to have decreased to 15%. On equal footing, the ratio of citizens in Japan is in decline and in 2050 is projected to have dropped at almost 2 percent from 4 percent in 1950.
In contrast, the levels of population in India experience a gradual increase from 15 percent in 1950 to 18 percent approximately in 2050.
Lastly, the USA’s ratio fluctuates for a bit, and after 2002 plateaus at 5 percent.
