The bar chart provides information about national and international level selling of varying types of digital games namely, mobile phone games, online games, console games and handheld games, during the period of 7 years.
Overall, handheld games were popularly sold throughout the period while, online games and mobile phone games arised later in market but showed upward trend whereas, console games was the only one that depicted downward trend with minor fluctuations. It is clear, that 2004 was the only year which illustrated rise in turnover of all the games listed.
Handheld games sales rate was initially in year 2000 other games around $11 billion, least sold games were console at $6 billion. In next three consecutive years sales of handheld games showed rose $13, $15 and $16 billion approximately compared to console games which declined by $5 billion to $4 billion. In 2004, both lead to significant rise around one billion dollar. In the later two years, firstly handheld games remained plunged and then peaked to $18 billion while, console games kept on declining.
Online games sales started in 2001 at minor turnover of $1 billion and rose steadily throughout the years(2002-2006) around $2 billion to $9 billion. In comparison with, mobile phone games which came later a year in market climbed from $2 billion to $7 billion.
