The bar chart demonstrates the level of donation among residents of different ages in Britain over a twenty-year period from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, a greater proportion of British citizens devoted money to charity in 1990 than in 2010. It is noticeable that the most difference in the percentage of those who gave money across two years is 18-25 group.
In 1990, those who were between 36 and 50 years old in Britain reached a peak of 42%. In contrast, solely around 17% of people from the 18-25 age group contributed to the charitable organizations which were in the last position. After two decades, both these percentages dropped remarkably, at 35% and 7% respectively. In addition, the number of people donating to the charity from the 26-35 age group experienced a decline in 2010 from 31% to 24%.
While the proportion of British people from the age of 50 and under decreased over two years, the figure witnessed an increase among the 51-65 age group from 35% to nearly 40%, which came out first in 2010. Moreover, the data for the over 65 years old was lower than that of the 51-to-65-year-old, at 35%. Nonetheless, it was still a little higher than the 1990's figure of 32%.
